The main value of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” is its personnel working in different places of Kazakhstan, as well as in near and far abroad throughout the world. To date, the total number of personnel, including those with subsidiaries, exceeds 64 thousand people.

The 2011-2015 Human Resource Policy of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” was developed in accordance with the Long-Term Strategy of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” and provisions of the 2010-2020 Human Resource Policy for the Group of Companies of the NWF Samruk Kazyna JSC. The Policy outlines main areas and approaches of HR management for the implementation of the mission and strategic goals declared by KMG.

The main goal of KMG Human Resource Policy is to improve the efficiency of human resource management through the establishment of an integrated system of human resource management focused on making the maximum profit and ensuring leadership in the competitive environment, based on economic incentives and social guarantees, and facilitating the balanced recognition of employer and employee interests and development of relations between them to the benefit of the Company.

Oil and gas industry professional standards

Oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan is the flagship of country economy which develops in a dynamic way in continuous changes. Consequently there are new requirements for employees’ qualifications that would meet modern level of technics and technologies development as well as clearly defined types of employees’ responsibilities.

Our vision in the sphere of oil and gas industry professional standards assumes unified qualification requirements for oil and gas branch workers regardless of organization location that meet modern international production needs.

The main objective is development of the industry professional standards, i.e. for all business directions of oil and gas industry:

  • Oil and gas exploration,
  • Wells drilling,
  • Oil and gas production,
  • Oil and gas transportation and storage,
  • Oil and gas processing,
  • Oil, gas and petroleum products marketing.

KazMunaiGas NC JSC professional standards development project is implemented to achieve this goal, this project involves specialists from more than 30 supervised departments and affiliated companies of KMG.

Professional standards development and implementation contributes to solving a wide range of tasks in the sphere of human resources management in a higher quality level.



JSC NC “KazMunayGas” was recognized as the best employer among national companies within the framework of the Senim 2010 International HR-Conference held in Astana in March 2010 under official support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Atameken Union National Economic Chamber. In addition, in 2010 NC KazMunaiGas JSC implemented the HR-Benchmarking Project: Key Performance Indicators of HR Departments of KMG Group that received recognition of members of the Expert Council from leading HR-specialists of Kazakhstan.
