Gas Transportation Operators JSC «KazTransGas» and «KazRosGas»LLP
Today one of the main gas transport routes is the «Central Asia-Center» gas pipeline (CAC), running from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan through theWest Kazakhstan and connecting to Russian gas transportation systems.
CAC gas pipeline is designed for transit of the Central Asian gas and transportation of the Kazakh gas for exports. Exported gas proceeds to more attractive markets – into the European and CIS countries – through the gas transportation system of Gazprom.
As the increase in the own natural gas production to 50 billion cubic metresannually is in the works, the plans are to increase the gas export potential by 2010. In view of the growing volumes of Kazakh hydrocarbons production and geopolitical position of the Republic of Kazakhstan, development of transportation of hydrocarbons to the Caucasus is a promising direction in terms of the policy of diversifying oil and gas transportation.
Another important direction of gas supplies is the Eastern one – to China, whose economic growth and energy market need a massive energy supply.
